Its modest size belies its capability - perfectly proportioned for precision work, detailed prep, and intricate cuts. The traditional rattan-wrapped handle provides a secure, comfortable grip that ages beautifully with use, while the blade's superior hardness ensures years of reliable performance.
Built for those who appreciate authentic Japanese tools and understand that quality endures. An everyday carry that rewards daily use.
The Toumaki Fujimaki is a masterwork of Japanese blade craftsmanship, hand-forged by master craftsman Motosuke Nagao at the legendary Nagao Kanekoma workshop. Its Aogami #2 steel core - celebrated for exceptional sharpness and edge retention—is forge-welded into softer iron using traditional warikomi construction, creating an ideal balance of cutting performance and durability.
Fully double-beveled and built with full-tang construction, this compact utility knife is robust enough for everyday work yet precise enough for detailed tasks: peeling fruit, food prep, woodworking, and intricate cuts.
The handle is traditionally wrapped in rattan using the toumaki method, offering a secure grip and classic Japanese aesthetic that ages beautifully with use. Historically carried by samurai as an auxiliary blade, the Toumaki remains a practical everyday knife for those who value authentic tools and understand that quality endures.
