The Higonokami Tongari Damascus is a premium friction-folding pocket knife handcrafted by artisans in Miki, Hyogo, Japan. Built for professional bushcrafters, outdoor enthusiasts, and collectors, it features a distinctive sharp, pointed blade tip that sets it apart from standard Higonokami designs.
The blade showcases authentic multi-layered Damascus steel with a premium Aogami (Blue Paper Steel) high-carbon core, delivering exceptional sharpness and edge retention. As a true friction folder honoring 130 years of heritage, it uses no mechanical lock—instead, simple thumb pressure on the chikiri (forged lever) keeps the blade safely open during use.
Comes boxed in a wooden Paulownia box perfect for gifting.
Hand-engraved brass or copper handles feature traditional Japanese motifs including tigers, dragons, and bamboo, making each piece a distinctive collector's item that blends functionality with timeless craftsmanship.
