A truly unique expression of Japanese textile craftsmanship, this one-of-a-kind handmade jacket is reconstructed from a vintage silk kimono, transforming an exceptional piece of traditional textile art into a contemporary garment.
The original proportions and spirit of the kimono have been thoughtfully reinterpreted into a relaxed, modern silhouette, while preserving the character, texture and beauty of the original fabric. Hand-dyed shibori and intricate woven gold threads create a rich and distinctive surface, with each detail reflecting the skill and patience of traditional Japanese artisans.
Softly quilted and comfortable to wear, the jacket features practical side pockets and a front snap closure. Its understated silhouette allows the remarkable textile to take centre stage, making it equally suited to relaxed everyday dressing or layered over more tailored pieces.
As a one-of-a-kind handmade piece, no two jackets are identical. The vintage kimono textile carries its own history, subtle variations and individual character, ensuring that this garment is not simply something to wear, but a unique piece of Japanese craftsmanship given new life.
