Fores Hayashi Kogei is a lighting brand from Gifu Prefecture famous for its Mino washi paper and interior lighting shade design. They produce numerous variations of shades in combination with exotic hand made paper.
Fores's modern arrangements of traditional Japanese lighting using washi paper have won numerous design awards for innovative lighting that can be incorporated into both Japanese and Western-style interiors in the style of artists such as Isamu Noguchi and Yanagi Sori.
Gifu prefecture itself is the traditional center of the Chochin industry in Japan, producing the finest washi paper as well as the long, uniform bamboo strips essential in producing Chochin lanterns.
The paper in these shades is hand-made with hemp fiber and rice pulp and the shades themselves are also completely hand constructed; the bamboo frames of lanterns are cross-wrapped, which is technically difficult.
They recommend not only Japanese-style rooms but also modern Japanese interiors for Western-style rooms. The simple design allows you to coordinate them with the furniture and the atmosphere of your room.

Your parcel should arrive within 3-5 working days of receipt of the order or POP, if an EFT. Rural delivery may take a little bit longer. We will always advise if there is an expected delay.

All delivery costs for products delivered within South Africa are based on a flat rate fee, if under R700 in retail value. R80 for within Cape Town and R120 for National. We also offer a Collection option which is free of charge.
