The Hibachi (火鉢, fire bowl) is a traditional Japanese cooking device, believed to date back over a thousand years. A Hibachi is found in most Japanese households and is designed to hold burning charcoal. They are generally round, cylindrical, or box-shaped, open-topped, and made from or lined with a heatproof material.
This dual-purpose Grills of Japan Round Hibachi is produced in the traditional Japanese design, and can be used in exactly the same way; uniquely including both a grill mesh for traditional tabletop hibachi grilling, as well as a teppanyaki plate and oil drip-tray for smoke-free indoor cooking.
Due to the ceramic build, bamboo handles, heat board and mesh lifter, it is also very easy to carry, clean and cook on.
As with Grills of Japan’s other Hibachi, this Shichirin is ideal for tabletop use, both indoor and outdoor. As opposed to Diatomaceous Earth, it is made of the same material used to make The Big Green Egg and Kamado Jan grills, and fired to a very high temperature.
The 2-In-1 is truly built to last and such fun to use - for the whole family - making this hibachi a definite favourite for any occasion. The table grill is also very portable and ready to go where your next trip takes you - to even if it's the kitchen counter or dining table!
The ceramic base also ensures that the grill is very easy to clean, due to the glazed finish inside and out. Simply remove the ceramic base once completely cooled from its stainless-steel frame and wash with warm water and soap. Dry and return it to the frame ready for next time.
Combined with using Binchotan Charcoal (African or Japanese), this grill will hold its heat for much longer than with regular charcoal, along with the added benefits of no smoke or smell. To light, use a standard Chimney Starter (a single Starter Pot will not provide enough coals) or our 2-in-1 Starter Extinguisher, and once you have finished grilling, simply close the vents, remove the mesh and use your Round Extinguishing Lid (see images/sold separately), or remove the binchotan and extinguish into your extinguishing pot for future use.
The 2-In-1 can be used outdoors using either binchotan or regular charcoal, or indoors using binchotan charcoal and sufficient ventilation.
Comes complete with a Grills of Japan-branded bamboo board to help protect your table as well as a fireproof base for added protection, as well as a handy grill mesh tool lifter.

Fine hairline cracks in the glaze may also occasionally occur during the heating and cooling of the grill. Again these in no way compromise the grill's functionality.
