Founded in 1923, Kurobara Honpo has been making blade preservation oil for nearly a century. Their high-grade precision oil using a cold press method is the most popular oil used in Japan to keep knives from developing rust or spots. With over 90 years experience extracting this natural oil from camellia flower seeds, their odorless and non-drying Tsubaki camellia oil should be the first choice for care and preservation of high-carbon knife blades.
For knives that are regularly used, consistent maintenance is key. Apply this high-grade oil after each use to maintain the blade's appearance and functionality. Can also be used for DIY tools and on high grade precision machinery.
How to use:
- Ensure the blade is clean and dry
- Apply a small amount to a soft cloth and gently and evenly wipe across the blade
- After applying, use a new cloth to carefully buff
- Leave a thin layer of oil on the blade
- Before using your knife again, rinse the knife under cold water to remove any oil
